Thoughts On Artificial Intelligence and Communication

Artificial intelligence scares me. It scares me to know something completely lifeless could possible feel what humans feel. Although I do not believe that that is possible, I do think this artificial intelligence will lead to less social interaction and less effort in relationships. Courting a girl nowadays wasn't near as difficult as it was before. All you gotta do now is text them up and they will show up. Before, you had to talk to their parents, knock on their door, write letters, etc. Technology has just improved greatly in the past few years making for more efficient communication between people but has also allowed leeway into lazy meetups. If actual meetup communications lessen based on how efficient technology becomes, maybe in the future we may be able to communicate without actually communicating? Does that even make sense? Probably not. But smartphones didn't make sense to people 50 years ago so, yeah I guess my point is valid. It just scares me because I feel that the social contact is completely essential to human life and growth. It's just a thought, though. Don't know how I actually feel. Happy because it does make things much more easier, but it does also give us a reason to be much more lazier.

  1. I like your ideas on artificial intelligence. I agree how you said that with technology communication has gotten easier, but social contact has gotten harder. Like you, I'm also am interested in new technology that will make life easier, but scared for the human race which will get lazier. Good job! c:

  2. I feel that your ideas on how artificial intelligence may lead to less social interaction may be true, but it may also lead to more. It could open opportunities that you normally wouldn't get to with others such as a diary or journal where instead you talk to an AI and it gives you feedback based on what you tell it, the possibilities are endless, and can also make planning for social interaction easier.

  3. Totally agree with the fact that this technology can make us feel lazier, and I also feel its quite scary that things like Siri are like 10 times smarter than me, and that they can have feelings too. This whole situation reminds me of watching cartoons when I was younger, where the robots would overtake the humans but then the humans would end up conquering the robots. But in this cartoon, are we going to overtake AI or let it overtake us....?

I agree with your views 100%.

  4. I agree with your opinion towards artificial intelligence and how society is becoming more efficient with their communication but lack the human interaction. Artificial intelligence can have limitless opportunities and have the potential to do so much for mankind but can't replace human beings itself. I very much agree how technology really took an impact on society in ways that it changed the way humans interact with each other.
