People Are Just Too Sensitive

There's been some controversy on whether hateful tweets or comments on social media should be a concern to society and and be closely inspected or permanently stopped. I think this topic is becoming a much bigger deal than it actually is. No one is making threats, it's just a plain old joke. And even if it isn't, a person isn't going to get hurt unless they allow something as stupid as a tweet to hurt them. I think everyone needs to toughen up and stop being cry babies.

If it wasn't already obvious, we live in a flawed world. We were all born with imperfections, and it's always going to be like that, (not unless aliens conquer the world and brainwash us into emotionless robots) whether you like it or not. There are always going to be people out there that hate you, it's inevitable! Like the famous quote, "Trying to please EVERYONE is a recipe for stress, misery and frustration. Be yourself. -Unknown" (maybe it's not so famous)... The point is, there's always going to be someone out there that's going to hate you. Sure on twitter, the way people lash out at each other could be brutal, but let's not forget, there's SO much more social media sites out there besides twitter. Are we really going to ban them all because of hate tweets? Just ignore it! If you can't, block them. Taking the social media sites off the web isn't going to do anything. It'll change from web, to phone, to life. We're going to take out phones and life too!? I think people need to just suck it up and deal with it, because there's SO much we could do about it. It'll only affect you if you allow it to. Be strong and live a hatred free life by just filtering out yourself. Dude said you're ugly? Who cares, you know beautiful inside and out. Maybe he needs a self check, after all, he looks like an asscrack anyways.

  1. I totally agree! I think social media is an enabler and makes everybody feel like their opinions are relevant so they're starting to express opinions they wouldn't say in real life. But because social media is still connected to people and people still identify closely with their social media accounts, it's also a bit hard for you to block people on social media. Personally, I think people act differently on social media because they can say anything they want and they won't always receive backlash from what they say, whereas if they said it in real life, they would immediately reprimanded.
However, I think that because of the way other people treat social media, people easily forget that a social media is for themselves and not to impress others and you have full control over it.
